Limonana
Refreshing, sweet and simple to make. This Limonana slushy beverage is popular in Middle Eastern areas and is a great choice for a hot sunny day!

3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups water, divided
3 cups ice
1 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
lemon slices, for garnish
mint sprigs, for garnish
Directions
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 3/4 cup of water over low heat.
- Stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Let cool to room temperature.
- Add sugar water to a blender with remaining water, ice, lemon juice and mint leaves.
- Pulse until ice is thoroughly crushed and mixture is slushy.
- Taste, and adjust ingredients (if necessary).
- Pour into glasses.
- Garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs.
